Solar Wearable Cape (Based on Namielle Armour)

The Solar Wearable Namielle Cape is a cape that borrows design from an armour piece in from the game: Monster Hunter World Iceborne. The crafting of the cape is designed to reflect this. The cape was designed with long tendrils that hang down from the shoulder. With the back being black while the front is a blue that gradually fades into a pink as you travel down the length of the cape, both sides were then stitched together. Aside from being accurate to the game the empty space between the fabric creates a spot to hide the electronic parts and wiring. The cape uses two series of Christmas lights, each powered by a respective solar panel. This adds extra functionality, because each side is powered by it’s own solar panel, each side reacts to its own environment meaning that the lights react just a little bit more dynamically to the environment. The intention is to place these solar panels inside the cape with a window so they are able to sense the environment around them but due to sautering issues, we were unable to finish that portion for our demonstration. The cape is also inspired by the bioluminescent properties of jellyfish using solar energy to power the cape gives the cape the natural touch present in monster the armour in the game is made from. It was also to have sun power the cape but not turn it on until there is an absence of light. This allows the cape to truly show it’s luminescent properties. The circuit uses a rechargeable battery to store it’s power, this lets the circuit hold a lot more sun power than if we were just using materials bought at creatron.
